Binary coding

Lesson: Information and communication technology

Year 5 were given the challenge of creating some binary codes.  At the start of the lesson we learned how to write binary numbers and explore the patterns between binary numbers and our own number system.  Once we understood the relationship between these number systems, we substituted binary codes for numbers in the alphabet and had a go at creating some binary codes.
