CLASS 5J- DESIGN TECHNOLOGY WEEK ( Simple Machines )

This week is Design Technology Week with Year 5 pupils beginning to investigate simple machines. To start off with the children had a look at simple household machines such as pliers, hammers, whisks and screwdrivers. They discussed some of the mechanisms involved in these tools.

Following on from this, the children were guided through a process to make a Spirograph using simple gear technology.

Additionally, the children were asked to measure a saw  strips of wood ready for a task later in the week.
