Practical representations in Maths

Lesson: Maths

Over the past fortnight, 4M have been looking at using formal column addition and subtraction. To help reinforce this, we have used place value counters as an aid to learning. Everything which we have done practically using the counters was useful for when we transferred to using standard column method. The children love using these counters and it clearly provides a bedrock achieving their next steps.
