Researching cushions- year 3 DT project!

Lesson: Design and technology

This week Year 3 are designing their own Christmas cushion inspired by the designer 'Cath Kidston'. 

We started out week practising a sewing skill from Year 2 of running stitch to see what they remembered from sewing in Year 2. 

We then taught them a new stitch of cross stitch which will be our main sewing stitch this year. 

The children have spent some time researching about the designer 'Cath Kidston' to see what inspired her to become the designer she is today. 

After looking at different textiles, the children brought in some of their own cushions/textiles from home to share with the rest of the class.
