Styal Mill visit by class 10

Lesson: History

Our pupils were fortunate to visit the house, closed to the public, in which the Greg family lived. They were shown the Greg's parlour, dining room and the cellars beneath.

Most of the day was spent with the children in role as apprentices, working at Quarry Bank Mill. They learnt about the jobs that children of their age would have been forced to do. The children also experienced a typical school lesson in the Apprentice house.

We are sure that the children learnt much about the Victorian era, whilst enjoying the drama.
