Including Speech in Year 1!

We began to include speech in our writing today. First, we created our own role plays and shared them with the class. We then used speech bubbles to record a possible conversation between the boy and the Martian from our story ‘The Way Back Home’. 

We then created our own interactions between the two characters, using speech marks to show what each character said. Some of us challenged ourselves even further... by using verbs such as ‘asked’ instead of ‘said’.
