Class 2W 2022 - 2023
Miss Wortley
Welcome to 2W's class page!
Our Year 2 journey continues here
Spring 2
We've got another busy half term ahead! We start this half term with our residential trip to Petty Pool Outdoor Activity Centre. We are all very excited! We will enjoy lots of activities including climbing, orienteering and archery. We will also be celebrating World Book day during our trip – it will definitely be one to remember. Our writing this half term will be based around the story 'Grandad's Island' by Benji Davies. As writers, we will plan and write our own return narrative and a detailed recount of our residential trip to Petty Pool.
In Science, it's all about plants as we become 'Young Gardeners'. In P.E, we will be focusing on dance and net and wall games. As mathematicians, we will focus on multiplication and division, whilst continuing to revisit previously taught topics and methods.
In Art, we will learn about the work of Jane Roxburg and in PSHE it’s all about emotions. In History, we will learn about holidays and life in the 1950s, compared with present day. In R.E, we will be learning more about the Easter story and in Computing, we will become photographers. We are also looking forward to DT week, where our learning will be inspired by the work of Louis Vuitton. We will design and make our very own pouches.
All this and much more!
Take a look at our learning overview linked below, to see what we will be covering this half term.
