British Values: Democracy

Lesson: PSHE and citizenship

This week, Year 2 had some visitors from Year 6 and school parliament. We found out more about what is meant by democracy, houses of parliament and our very own school parliament. We learnt some new vocabulary, including voter and election. It was great to hear from our school parliament about their role in school. 

We then had a very important job to do. We had to vote on the story for our quality story time at the end of the day. We each had one vote, which we had to keep secret. We put our vote in the ballot box. 

During this lesson, we got a BBC news notification on the I-pad to say that our Prime Minister Liz Truss has resigned!
