Jim and The Beanstalk in R1

This week we have been reading an alternative story to Jack and The Beanstalk which is called Jim and The Beanstalk. We have compared the two stories and looked at which characters are good or bad and why. As well as reading the story we watched a video from the giant and discussed how he would have felt after Jack had stolen his golden egg, harp and coins.

The children have thoroughly enjoyed reading this story and have been helping the giant by making him some glasses, a wig and a false set of teeth. As well as helping the giant we have been discussing why people need wigs, glasses and false teeth. We have also been continuing to measure in Maths.
