Place Value Concertina Creations!

Lesson: Maths

Today we made some great maths creations as a way of representing place value each making our own concertina place value card. Each section is labelled to show 10 thousands, thousands, hundreds, tens and ones. We then made number pieces that can be inserted into the slots to show different numbers. We enjoyed asking our friends to make numbers and then played a game to see which side of the room could create numbers the quickest. It is one way that we are using to help us think about place value in numbers alongside the place value counters and use of drawings to show our understanding too.
