Terrific Teeth and Fantastic Flossing

In our healthy bodies topic in science, we have been thinking about teeth and the importance of brushing our teeth correctly. We spoke about flossing, as the children had never heard of it. After watching several videos on the correct way to floss, we simulated flossing by covering our hands with chocolate and brushing them off with our "tooth brush" - a teaspoon! The children realised that they could not "brush" in between their fingers so would need to floss with a piece of string. They worked in pairs to promote teamwork and friendship skills. After this we learnt about the correct way to wash our hands as they were very messy!
