2F's visit to Wilmslow Library

Lesson: Learning Outside the Classroom

Class: 2F Year: 2023 - 2024

We had a wonderful visit to Wilmslow Library this morning! We set off from school at about 9am and walked all the way, past our local church and the river Bollin, and along Grove Street counting all the different shops, banks and cafes. It was great to walk through our local area and learn the names of some of the different places. 

We arrived at the library and met Martina, our local librarian. She welcomed us to the library and taught us lots of interested facts about our local library. We found out more about all the different types of books you can take out and the different services on offer at the library. We can even print our homework out there! 

We then got time to explore the library, enjoying a range of books by different authors. We found books linked to our history learning and books by authors we had learnt about in school, as well as lots of new authors and genres.
