Brown Cow

Lesson: Communication, Language and Listening

We had a lot of fun learning the 'ow' digraph this week in phonics, which is found in the phrase 'brown cow'. After learning how to pronounce the sound and read it in words, we went outside and read some sentences with our partner. In these sentences, we spotted the 'ow' word and wrote it on the playground with chalk. Some sentences had words with the 'ou' digraph in instead, which makes the same sound as 'ow', so we had to write this instead. The children had lots of fun.
