Time (line) and time (line) again

Lesson: History

This week, we started our history unit on the Stuart’s. Before we could even think about learning anything new, we decided that the children needed to consolidate their knowledge of British history, placing historical events in chronological order. The children were given time line cards without dates and had to place them in what they thought was the correct chronology. After this, the children played a British history board game with different dates and facts on in order to further consolidate their knowledge. Once the game was over, the children were given the opportunity to review their time line cards and change a card if they now believed they were in the wrong place. Mr Myers and Mrs Rodrigues then taught the children the correct order of the cards including dates and gave a brief lecture on British history from the Stone Age to Modern Day Britain.
