World Book Day

Class: 4H Year: 2023 - 2024

We had a fantastic day celebrating World Book Day 2024.

In the morning, we had a fabulous assembly about reading before watching a video of Onjali Rauf talking about her book The Boy at the Back of the Class. We read another chapter of her book in class and learnt more about refugees like Ahmet in the story. Then we visited the library to complete a book quiz where we had to guess the missing author and title of each book cover.

In the afternoon, we made playdough models of our favourite characters, designed and painted a new front cover for a book, made posters to help us remember our vocabulary words, did another book quiz and most importantly, read lots of traditional tales.  We ended the day with playing Mrs Harvey's World Book Day 'Pointless' on the whiteboard and taking our Book Day tokens home to spend on lovely new books.  A busy but fun day!
