Year 6 Science - Battle of the Beaks!

Year 6 have been learning about natural selection and the theory of evolution.

In this simulation game, 'Battle of the Beaks', the children learned about adaptive advantage, based on beak function, by simulating birds competing for various foods.

Birds equipped with genetically different “beaks” (utensils) hunt for “prey” (paperclips, pasta, etc). The fittest among them dominate the population, modelling the evolutionary process of natural selection.
