Healthy Snacks
At Lacey Green, we are committed to ensuring our pupils learn how to stay healthy. The PSHE and Science curriculum teaches the importance of healthy eating, why we need exercise and how to care for our bodies.
We have a healthy eating policy in school.
Children in Key Stage One have a piece of fruit provided by the school. The children eat their snack in the classroom as part of a whole class snack circle.
Children in Key Stage Two can bring in a healthy snack:
Break time snacks can be:
A piece of fruit;
A vegetable/vegetable sticks;
A healthy cereal bar;
Rice cakes or crackers
Breadsticks
Break snacks should not include:
Crisps;
Popcorn;
Confectionery such as chocolate bars, chocolate-coated biscuits and sweets;
Cakes and biscuits;
Nut or nut products (although they can be very healthy) because of the danger to other children with allergies.
