Governance
Lacey Green Primary Academy is committed to good corporate governance to ensure that the school is directed and controlled in a consistent and transparent manner.
We are governed by:
Members
Members are the guardians of Lacey Green Primary Academy Trust. They establish and oversee the effectiveness of the Trustee Board. As such the Department for Education describes their role as eyes on, hands off and they are akin to shareholders within a Company limited by Guarantee.
Trustees
Trustees are appointed by Members to oversee the business of Lacey Green Primary Academy, agreeing the overarching strategic direction and ensuring robust governance.
School Leadership Team
Trustees receive reports from our Principal, Head of School and other key leaders and professionals within our Academy to consider the course of action that will most benefit the outcomes for our children. In our Academy Trust, these functions are executed through meetings of the board and its sub-committees:
Sub-Committees
Finance and Staffing, Resources, Audit & Risk Committee: deal with budgets, monitoring actual income and expenditure, and monitoring the use of other resources, including staffing. They provides oversight and assurance of the effectiveness of financial controls and risk management systems.
Education and Standards Committee: monitors the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, safeguarding, and the strategic oversight of Lacey Green Primary Academy.
Building Committee: responsible for the oversight of any building projects and to ensure the Academy Estate is well maintained and managed.
English Hub Committee: deals with the strategic overview of the DfE’s Lacey Green English Hub. This committee is linked to the Finance Committee.
