5E 2023 - 2024
Hello and welcome to the class 5E page.
I am Miss Edwards, the 5E class teacher and I will be joined this year by our teaching assistant Ms Hubbard.
This web page will be used to keep you updated with photo gallaries of the children's learning activities and half termly curriculum updates to keep you aware of your children's learning.
Regular communication and updates will take place via class dojo. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me via class dojo messages.
A strong link between school and home learning is essential to enable the children to continue to make excellent progress and we would appreciate your continued support with the following home learning tasks which should be completed by the children on a weekly basis:
- The children are expected to read for at least 10 minutes per day five times per week. The children are expected to keep a record of this reading in their reading journal. We ask that a parent or guardian signs the journal to acknowledge that reading has taken place at least once per week.
- We will be continuing use Times Table Rock Stars this year as a strong times table knowledge is essential for children to master the Year 5 Maths curriculum. We expect that children are logging in three times per week for at least ten minutes. Please let us know if there are any log in issues.
- We will be sending two pieces of homework home each Thursday this work is due to be handed in on the following Monday.
- A new list of spellings will be sent home each Monday. Spellings test will take place on the following Monday. Although we work on the spellings in school, children need to be practicing at home so that they can make good progress.
