4H 2024 - 2025
Mrs Harvey
Welcome to 4H!
This half term, we are looking forward to another busy, exciting term. We are looking forward to continuing our swimming lessons, sports' day and learning about the USA.
If you ever have any questions about our learning please get in touch via Dojo.
Reading books
Your child will continue to need support with their reading at home even though they may now read fluently. You can help to make sure they have understood the new vocabulary they are reading and ask them questions about what they have read. Reading books will be changed on Tuesdays and Fridays with library books being changed every other Thursday. All reading counts! Your child should record their reading in their Learning Record and return it to school every day.
PE
PE is on a Wednesday in 4H but it may be easier for your child to keep their kits in school from Monday to Friday. Please note that children doing sports after school should bring in a different kit to wear for these clubs.
Homework
Please encourage your child to complete their homework on time and get into good routines ready for upper Key Stage 2 next year. Your child will recieve 2 pieces of homework in addition to reading regularly and practising times tables. Sometimes this will include a more creative piece of work over two weeks but most homework will be given out on a Friday for the following Tuesday. Spellings and a short times table test will be given on the Monday to learn for a test the following Monday. These will be tested like the spelling tests. Please support your child in learning these facts out of order so they can answer them quickly.
As always, if you have any questions please contact me or Mrs Palmer via our Class Dojo messages.
Thank you
Mrs Harvey and Mrs Palmer
