3Z 2023 - 2024
Welcome to our class page!
We have an exciting line up of topics planned for this year, spanning from The Stone, Bronze, and Iron Ages to the exploration of Light and Shadows, as well as journeys through Europe and the study of Islam. There is a lot to look forward to!
In this space, we will keep you updated on what is required from home and we will share our weekly activities. Additionally, this year we are fortunate to have the support of Miss Palmer who will work closely with various students throughout the year.
Expectations and routines:
Monday: Spellings will be given out for the following week's test.
Tuesday: English/Topic and Maths homework due in.
Friday: English/Topic and Maths homework will be assigned.
Children are expected to read at least five times a week, for a minimum of 15 minutes, and progress should be recorded in the Reading Record. A short comment inclduing any tricky words etc will be great.
Times Tables Rock Stars (TTRS):
By the end of Year 4, all children should have mastered their times tables. By the end of Year 3, they should know their 10, 2, 5, 3, 4, and 8 times tables. Practice sessions should occur a minimum of three times a week, with each session lasting for 5 minutes. These will be monitored in school to see that children are completing these sessions and which tables they need more help with.
Don't forget to visit our class gallery to see what we've been learning during the weeks!
