1H begin the 'Carnival of Colour'

Lesson: Art and design

1H arrived to school on Monday bursting with excitement ready for a busy theme week ahead! We began by exploring the carnival part of our theme. We watched some great videos, looked at lots of pictures and even tried a carnival dance. The children made some bright masks complete with feathers for the added carnival-fever look. The afternoon involved looking at primary colours and how to make secondary ones. The children worked with a partner, painted their hands in different colours and shook hands to make the secondary ones- great fun! We had also set up a water experiment using food colouring, water and paper towels to test out our colour theories. The results were great.

Enjoy our photos and keep your eyes peeled to spot your children in other photos throughout the week as they go and visit different teachers to explore different colours, media and artists.
